Bio
JOHANNA FINCHER, soprano, grew up singing in the Sarasota Youth Opera and Venice Little Theater. She began her performance career as a dancer with the Florida Ballet Arts Company and the Sarasota Ballet in their productions of Swan Lake, La Rondine and The Nutcracker. Her dance credits also include principal dancer and choreographer with the Capital Opera of Moorings in Naples for their productions of Amahl & the Night Visitors along the Florida Suncoast, and Jet Girl “Minnie” in St. Petersburg Opera’s production of West Side Story.
Vocally, Johanna has appeared in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Scotland, Bulgaria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In Florida, she has performed with many arts organizations including The Venice Symphony, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Sarasota Pops, North Port Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, Sarasota Concert Band, North Port Concert Band, Sarasota Choral Society, Gloria Musicae, Key Chorale, The Voices of Naples, The Sarasota Opera, St. Petersburg Opera, Opera Tampa and South-Florida Lyric Opera.
On the concert stage she has sung Dubois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Handel's Messiah, Bach Cantata 68, Faure Requiem, Haydn’s Kleine Orgelmesse, Haydn’s Creation and Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Mozart Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Handel's Foundling Hospital Anthem, Oratorio de Noel by Saint-Saens and Mendelssohn's Vom Himmel Hoch, among others.
Her roles include First Spirit in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Cinderella in The True Story of Cinderella, the Plaintiff “Angelina” in Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury, First Witch, Spirit (Mercury), and Belinda (cover) in Dido and Aeneas, Contessa Ceprano in Rigoletto, Bastienne in Mozart's Bastien and Bastienne, Celie in Signor Deluso, Annina and Violetta (cover) in La Traviata, Zerlina (cover) in Don Giovanni, Clorinda in La Cenerentola, and Lucy in The Telephone.
Johanna is very active in her community. She performed for the very first Joyful Noise Music Festival in Sarasota and regularly performs benefit concerts for OASIS (Opera for Animals, Singing is Saving) and Save Our Seabirds.
Johanna is also a member of The Qol Quartet.

She currently resides in Sarasota, FL, and is a cantor Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota, FL, and Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, FL.
